Damn You Alcohol…

So I’m on a mission… We’ve got our holiday booked up for the end of April and this gives me 12 weeks to get nice and lean so I don’t show the missus up on the beach…

Week 1

An awesome start… We had a 40th birthday bash with one of our clients to celebrate…

I set up myfitnesspal knowing what drinks and foods I was having that day and night… Or so I thought…

My overall intake was bang on all day so yes I could still have alcohol whilst on my “diet”… I made sure everything was set up so I could enjoy the party!

Then come the effects of alcohol… Dan covered this a couple of weeks ago with our group… He abstained from touching a drop of alcohol at his girlfriends family party… Why?… I’ll tell you…

It’s a bloody cruel thing really… when on the way home you can smell the pizza shop 6 mile away… Not to mention the fact Sarah pretty much from the get go had it in her head to get food on the way home…

I fell…

Or should I say IT fell… Straight in my mouth…

Meaty pizza please with everything on it… might as well have some garlic and chips to go with it Sarah says (these were for her but somehow I ended up having at least half…)

Got home… demolished the lot…

Yes I could of had more will power but the alcohol said “do what the fook you want!”

I ain’t gonna bitch and moan about it and completely go off track like most people would… I see the silver lining… The pizza was only an 8″ so there were no leftovers for breakfast… The deed was done and gone in a day…

So this week I’m going to balance out my weekly overall intake so that little slip was in fact absolutely fine… In fact… Pretty much as I write this 3 days later, I’ve balanced it already…

Was it worth it? A good night out with awesome company and a settled craving at the end… I’d say so…

In the future, whilst I have the holiday goal at least, I’ll just lower my kcals during the week of the night out so I know I can have a blow out without having to catch up…

Once you get the hang of tracking your nutrition you CAN live a normal life and not lock yourself away like a monk with no alcohol or takeaways…
