Lesley never made fitness her life, one of the main things for anyone is being able to maintain what you have lost. She’s now a stone lighter, 4″ off her waist, 3″ off her hips and an incredible 5% bodyfat down. There has never been a rush for her to lose “weight” as you can see she is just happy that it has come off slowly.
It seems whatever I am going through in my life has an impact on my weight, whether it’s been the dramatic loss of weight during chemotherapy and stress or the weight gain from my rather active social life when I don’t have any stressing factors to keep the gain at bay, it’s up and down like a yo-yo. I always seem to be trying to put weight on or lose it. I went to Ross at a stage where I wanted to lose weight.
I am probably what Ross would call consistently inconsistent. I have been across most of the North East with gym memberships, personal trainers and tried to do it myself with my own equipment but I’ve never had the results I wanted. What I’ve always wanted is to be able to continue with my social antics and not put any weight on, to actually lose a bit and tone up! What woman doesn’t want this???!! My diet has improved a bit but there is no consistency there whatsoever, I know this will delay some of my results but I accept this fact and even if I am consistently inconsistent, there’s definitely something in the double negative!
Other trainers have probably been a tad despondent to my attitude due to the above, almost immediately putting me down as a lost cause, but not Ross. Ross gave me as much guidance as he could knowing full well I’d be straight out on the pasta dishes and G&T’s at the weekend! He kicked my backside every time I was in the gym for my 1:1’s and the results started to come through.
I am 6ft 2 and have suffered with back issues most of my life, this also makes training a bit of an issue and Ross will have lost count of the times I’ve used the “long levers” line when squatting or doing any other exercises I don’t like. Ross has worked round my weak back and has also introduced me to some exercises to try and strengthen it. This has meant that my progress has never been stopped in its tracks by being unable to train.
Ross is a really good trainer; he actually understands the balance people have to have at different stages of their life. I’m 45 years old, yes I want to be fit, I want to feel good, but heck I want to make the most of my free time and if that means not having a 6 pack or being super lean then so be it.
Ross doesn’t judge, there’s no difference in his training of me or other people who maybe are more dedicated and strict with their diets. He always gives me 100% of his training ability and advice and this makes it work, because even though verbally I swear, I moan and I call Ross more names that probably appropriate, you naturally want to repay the effort and give it back during sessions.
I’d recommend RT Fitness to anyone, no matter what the goal, no matter what the lifestyle, if you’re willing to make small changes, work hard, and accept your own choices, Ross will get you the results you want.”
