Stress Will Kill Your Progress…

I’ve found over the years that stress is a killer… not just in a literal sense but in the sense of progress especially when it comes to health, fitness and aesthetic goals.

Health – ever notice when you think something is up, you get worse when you don’t know what it is.

It keeps you awake at night so you feel even more run down, nothing prescribed from the doctors seems to be helping, you start over thinking it and start feeling even worse.

It’s human nature to feel stress over our own health and the health of others.

Our minds are often troubled and stress sets in, grabs a hold and before long you’re going further and further into a shit storm…

With regards to fitness and aesthetics… I myself noticed a huge shift in myself when I stopped living my days stressed to bits.

One thing or another in life always seemed to be a real headache, work, home, there was always a drama and in all honesty I think at the time I thought it was something I couldn’t escape…

Then I realised it was a matter of choices, I walked away from my business and started doing something I enjoyed…

Biggest source of stress at that particular time alleviated… results started showing.

Whenever I was stressed about nutrition, the results would slow, my head would be like a bomb site and it wasn’t just the nutrition that had me in a fettle, I’d let everything else bother me too.

It all boiled from the control factor of the nutrition… when I stopped thinking about it, it wasn’t just my results that improved it was my life in general…

One thing I’ve noticed personally from coaching the Warrior Women is that those who stress less about their nutrition seem to get better results…

Now whether this is because they just manage it, they eat what they want within reason, some days eating all what you would consider junk food and then other days having a balanced nutritional intake… it keeps them sane… or whether its because naturally and without realising it they fluctuate from higher to lower cals to a point where it balances out at a decent average… they do it… I can’t explain it… It’s mad when you think about it…

There are those who literally track to within an inch of their life day in and day out and dare I say worry about whether their carbs are clean or dirty… if their sugar intake is high, their fibre is too low, their fats are out of control… this I feel is what holds them back… they stress out so much about it that something chemically occurs in their body which just hinders their progress.

I’m going to blame the media again for this epic twat of misinformation… What is key is everything in moderation.

I practice IIFYM (if it fits your macros – and I openly encourage this as a way of getting results)… My personal example is a pretty bad one in all honesty as I do believe my micronutrients are a touch neglected so I dare say my insides aren’t in as good a nick as my physique…

but I am well aware of my shortcomings and I can work on them.

So… I aim to hit my protein, fat, carbs and kcals (this is my primary focus)… I then monitor my micronutrients and my fibre… It doesn’t matter if one day my sugars are up from an intake of banana or fizzy cola bottles (haribo)… my body converts it and uses it all the same…

This misinformation about the foods we eat has got to stop… our body is a quite simply a machine and each one is different, you have to work out what works for your engine… some will struggle to function if they have certain foods, certain foods won’t agree with you… some foods will give you a boost and keep you going… but each of us is different… to think that we all need the same fuel is ridiculous and downright annoying!!!

There is a fear of fat… fat doesn’t make you fat in fact for women it’s a necessary to help our bodies function, when you drop your fat you have all kinds of menstrual issues – and this stems from this fear that media have put into people… clearly they didn’t think it through… fuckwits…

Sugar is not the devil… they promote your 5 a day like there’s no tomorrow but cut out your sugar…

I’m pretty sure sugar is sugar when you actually break it down and the amount of sugar is a banana is immense, why else do you think it’s an awesome addition to your pre workout edibles… If you had 10 cans of coke, 10 bananas and a packet of haribo then yeah you’d have a problem, the crash would be pretty spectacular at the end of the sugar rush…

It’s all common sense…

Quite literally… common sense…

Everything in moderation is the key to a healthy and happy life…

If you’re happy, you’re less stressed, you’re motivated to do things, get out and about, enjoy life!!!

If you’re less stressed not only do your goals become attainable but the final stress bucket that you will inevitably end up kicking if you continue down the route you’re on, will disappear…

Just as a little aside from the above, this morning I woke up in a right foul mood… I’m actually writing this chuckling away to myself because I myself have been a little bit of a grump today!!!… after a bit of a stressful weekend and a busy week ahead…

I let stress back into my life… Best take my own advice for a little while!!!

So you see, I’m not saying, it’s simple and easy, I’m just saying consider it when you have goals in mind… It’s easier to let it take a hold than it is to let is go but the overall feeling of wellbeing is so worth it!!!
