Will it ever be easy?

Simple answer… No

You’re 30 something, you’re overweight, you’ve never exercised a day in your life and you’ve abused your body since you were 18…

That first week of training has nearly killed you, you can’t brush your hair with your T-Rex like arms, you’ve ripped the radiator off the wall trying to get off the toilet and your stairs have now become Everest…

The 2nd week comes and you’re doing that little bit better on the old aches and pains…

3rd week in… you feel fantastic!! The soreness is even less and you’re able to do so much more already!! What’s more, you’re full of beans to get through your day to day life!!

4th week here and ready to conquer… on a high from what you’ve achieved so far you push yourself to the max and all those above aches creep back in…

5th week in and a bit narked with the return of said aches you fall off your diet in a massive way “I’m goosed, I’m aching all over, this shit’s not worth it, I’m off to Greggs”

7th week arrives (because you took week 6 off to “recover” and lick your wounds and “get back on it” diet wise) all the above aches have come back… It’s like week one all over again, the porcelain throne once again makes you it’s bitch and your hair is a clip because you just can’t even look at a brush without wincing…

There is light here somewhere… I’m getting to it…

Once you get into the 3 month mark and understand (you’ve finally listened to what we have been telling you for the last 3 months)… you don’t have to be on a strict diet all of the time… You’ve started to relax into your new nutrition ways, you’re enjoying foods you always saw as “bad” without feeling guilty, you’re still pushing yourself, week in, week out at the gym… And you’re making progress…

You’ve come out of the mental box you were holed up in after years of social influence, you’ve realised that to lose weight you don’t have to starve yourself or hit beast mode every time you hit the gym… Everything in moderation and enjoying the training you are doing is key…

Will it ever be easy? No… You will always be pushing yourself further and further as time goes on… Can you do it? Fuck yes!!!
