The Truth about Transformations…

The truth about transformations

First things first… Here at RT Fitness we do transformations, we’ve done these from the very beginning and still do them to this day.

We’ve done 8 weeks, 28 days and even 21 days in the past but now we only do 90 days (3 months)

We have also always had a money back guarantee on these transformations… basically, if you don’t get any results we will give you your money back… I’d like to point out that not a single person has asked for their money back throughout.

As above… we now only do 90-day transformations (8 weeks is specifically upon request). The reason behind this is that we want people to see this as a long-term thing not just a quick fix. To be honest, I even think of our 3-month program as a trial to see if you enjoy our coaching and we enjoy coaching you rather than your typical transformation program. Every transformation we show we have told you how long it has taken to achieve, whether that be 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 3 months or even 3 years… these are the real transformations and what transformations should be!!!

The type of people who sign up to these 6 week programs or less generally do so already knowing that they are going to stop afterwards, especially if they get their money back if they lose X amount of weight in that time frame…all of this in the name of the company promoting dangerous weight loss before and after pics…You know the ones, they make you eat next to nothing, change your profile picture, make you check in to every session and then use your before and after pictures to further market their services to others. Who is winning here?

You sign up to these, think you’ve done well and are now completely cured of your weight problems… but 6 weeks later from not training and going back to old eating habits…you’re now heavier than you were before…

This is not your fault…

You see, these companies don’t give a shit about what they are doing to their clients’ long-term health, all they care about is getting those progress photos so that they can sell more packages to vulnerable people who need to lose weight.

We live in a world of wanting everything now now now and when companies claim they can get you 20 lbs lighter in a short time frame it’s really no wonder people join them! The fact that in some instances you need a doctors note to join these programs says it all…

No questions asked…give me your money, eat a dangerously low kcal diet, lose the weight and fuck up your metabolism forever…

For every seminar I have ever taken regarding training and nutrition, the first thing I tell people is “if you have the weight to lose you should be aiming for 1lb per week fat loss” … I get shocked and disappointed faces every time.

Yet again this is not the publics fault when all they see on Facebook is people losing 20-30lbs in a very short space of time… this has now become the norm, it’s become the desired result… the quick fix is winning despite multiple infamous PT’s, both local and otherwise, now telling you the exact thing we’ve been preaching for the last 6+ years… it doesn’t work long term…

For all these people who have lost this weight, how many do you think have kept it off? … You already know this answer…

There are some great coaches out there, great coaches who tell you the truth, this shit isn’t easy, and it certainly isn’t quick. Unfortunately, some of these good coaches have gone completely down the quick fix route as a money-making scheme (some of them have probably felt there was no other way to compete – just look at how many carbon copies are popping up in the North East alone) … it boils my piss.

Think back to of all those fools who got conned into selling Herbalife, Juice Plus, the list goes on… where are they now?

Probably still selling their soul to make a quick buck…

70% of Successful weight loss clients will regain all their weight loss and more in the first year, 85% 2 years and 95% 3 years… the weight loss industry only has a success rate of 5% … 5%!!! Fuck… No wonder we have so many issues with yo-yo dieting and on and off again training… The reason why you may be asking???

Simple… Lack of sustainability and consistency…

When these places give you a diet to follow in that short space of time telling you its Jacks magic bean…Take a good hard look at it and have a long hard talk to yourself about whether you can keep this up forever… after all this is the only way you should be eating right? … I’d love you to ask that coach straight to their face… do you follow this nutrition plan? Guaranteed they do not whether they have weight to lose or otherwise their nutrition will be far from what they’re preaching to you, but they certainly won’t be telling you about it!

Dieting, or what I’d rather say, nutrition, is long term and if you can’t sustain the diet your coach has given you long term then it just isn’t gonna work long term!!!

I still get people asking me now for meal plans, saying that they work best when told what to eat… I say straight back to them “how has that worked in the past for you? Why aren’t you doing that now still from your last coach if it works so well? And finally, why are you here now?”

Meal plans don’t work, and they certainly aren’t a requirement!!!… Unless of course you’re a competitive athlete which 99.9999% reading this are not…

I myself have been a sucker for this a very long time ago and have wound up giving people a meal plan to follow… Zero of those people are now on that plan… but, as I keep on top of the latest research and constantly educate myself I’ll always be top of the game and available to give advice, most of which is freely available on this page!

Yo-Yo dieting or weight loss cycling constitutes for 95% of people…you know the people who lose weight, gain weight, lose weight, gain weight… This figure is shocking, and I’ll explain why…

Every time you Yo-Yo diet you are awakening the bodies self defence system.

When dieting you are putting your body into a mini starvation mode meaning your body becomes scarce of energy (starvation mode is a highly contested term, but so you can understand what I’m saying, I’m using it).

Basically, your body is wondering where all this energy is going and strives to keep it. Whilst you’re in this heavy caloric deficit your body is already preparing itself to restore the energy lost (weight)…evolution baby!!!

Then when you start eating again you put the weight back on faster… We’ve all been here right?

This is your bodies way of preserving the energy you got rid of in the first place… this is further increased by crash dieting e.g. the 20lbs in 20-day bull shit…

Then again… as you know… with time it takes that little bit longer to cut that weight again and even faster to put it back on and more so, this happens on repeat, you lose less, gain more, lose less, gain more… your body thinks that there is a famine coming and wants to hold on to all that energy as tightly as it can… So in effect, those of you that diet hard and on repeat, are likely to be the most overweight in the long run… quick fix for now, fucked at 50…

Think about it… it’s only been the last 70 years where food has been in abundance, prior to this, our evolutionary system has needed to hold onto to any extra energy it can for times of where no food is available. I’d predict that in the next 70 years if we continue to abuse our bodies and try to outsmart them with these ridiculous nutrition plans, our obesity crisis is only going to get worse… It’s time to wake up, wise up and put some work in.

As I’ve said here at RT Fitness we only like you to lose 1lb of fat per week if you have the weight to lose, we put you in a slight calorie deficit without cutting anything out of your diet, training sensibly 3-4 times per week without killing you. Notice I continue to use the 1lb of “fat”, that’s because, if you lose waaaay more than that, say 10lbs in 1 week, most of that will be water and muscle loss… No one lost 20lb in 20 days and looked “toned” or indeed “healthy”

By taking this approach… Sustainably and Consistently… You can do this forever WITHOUT damaging your health.

If I’m not mistaken, this is what a good coach should be teaching you…long term sustainable health goals…not quick fixes.

I’m very sorry if you have fallen into this trap yourself, many of us have at some point, and I genuinely hope you have not caused too much damage doing repeat crash dieting time and time again…it’s not your fault and it’s not too late.

But you’ve got to stop doing this… if you value your health both now and for in your later years, STOP with these crash dieting programs… Imagine being 20 stone plus and 75 years of age… I can’t, can you?
